Decline of the Czech teacher's elite 1945-1955

This dissertation focuses on history of czech teachers, primarily high school teachers. The idea is to originate everything from the basics of history that is traditionally in rythm with political changes. This thesis is focused on deeper understanding of transformation of czech education, changes and developpement of one multilayered professional status or in the end a change of czech society in the first half of the 20th century. The time period between 1945 and 1955 is well known for its political, bussines and economic transitions. The main focus of this disertation is to show from the history of teachers which they are related to the teaching laws, the big modification that has happened at the time period. Concrete examples are presented in a detailed developpements which are different between inland and borderline gymnasiums and the way the teaching is conducted. This disertation offers complete picture of this topic, that is until now processed only in ideologically orientated publications. v anglickém jazyce: FRENCH LANGUAGE WITHIN THE CZECH EDUCATION ENVIRONMENT 1847 -1948 The objective of this dissertation thesis is to analyse the position of French language as a regular school subject taught in the Czech education environment, with focus on the era of the years 1847 - 1948. This interval was chosen intentionally to demonstrate the development and transformation of the position of French language, from the time it appeared in school curriculum as an obligatory subject, through the golden age of Francophony in the interwar Czechoslovakia of the 1930s, up until the year 1948 when the structure of taught foreign languages changed and French language lost its significant position due to the changes in political regime and the post-February policy of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia. The thesis is divided into three theoretical sections which represent different points of view on period French language teaching. The initial section includes characteristics of the Czech education environment with regard to the specific types of public schools where it was taught, as well as references to the most significant education reforms which were shaping the school system during the period concerned. of the diploma thesis The diploma thesis focuses on the analysis of historical development of system of education in a particular region in the context of historical influences. The thesis is formally divided into two parts. The first is descriptive and deals with the process of formation of elementary schools from their historical origins untill the first half of 19th century. Particular attention is devoted to essential education reforms and to socio- economical status of teachers. The second part of the thesis focuses on the history of local schools in Závratec and its surroundigs between 1820 and 1918. With the application of microanalytical method, there is a description of particular social situations and historical contexts of the establishment and development of one of the elementary schools.

In this context, I also try to show the position of the Czech teacher in society. I focus mainly on certain groundbreaking moments in teacher education, therefore I pay attention to the changes in education system as a whole, show the causes of these changes and present the personalities that have directly or indirectly affected these changes.
Music education textbooks for primary schools between 1968 and 1989

Main topic of this bachelor thesis is analysis of the Czechoslovakian music education textbooks for the lower secondary education that were published between 1968 and 1989. This social science oriented theoretical thesis focuses on the tendencies of the former political era in context to the functional parts of the textbooks. The thesis later, based on the acquired insight to the problematics, puts specific tendentious elements of the textbooks into social-historical context and creates a summary of these elements. At the same time it also compares music education textbooks published in the 70's to the textbooks published in the 80's based on ther formal structure, clarity and didactic value.
